What is the difference between mg, mcg, and Units?

mg (milligram) is the amount of peptide in the vial. mcg (microgram) is your single dose – 1 mg = 1,000 mcg. Units are the lines on the insulin syringe: For every standard insulin syringe, 1 Unit = 0.01 ml. The scale does not change with syringe size – only the maximum capacity (30, 50, or 100 Units).

How much bacteriostatic water should I use?

The water volume determines the concentration and thus how many units you draw per dose. More water = lower concentration = more units per dose (finer readability). Less water = higher concentration = fewer units. Choose the volume so that your target dose is comfortably readable on the syringe scale.

Why do the same doses result in different numbers of lines?

The markings on the syringe change depending on its size, which is why the same dose can result in different numbers of lines on different syringes. The calculator always correctly converts your volume into the appropriate number of units and warns you if the amount does not fit into the selected syringe.
