SENEX GHK-Cu 50 mg – High-Purity Copper Peptide for Research Purposes

GHK-Cu is one of the most extensively studied peptides ever. SENEX supplies GHK-Cu in 50mg size with a batch-specific certificate of analysis from Janoshik – exclusively for scientific, analytical, and research-related purposes.

What is GHK-Cu?

GHK-Cu is a complex of two components: the tripeptide Glycyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine (GHK) and a divalent copper ion (Cu²⁺). The compound is bioidentical, meaning it occurs naturally in the human organism and can be detected in blood plasma, wound fluid, and saliva, among other places.

GHK was first described in 1973 by Loren Pickart, who isolated it from human blood plasma. The available data therefore goes back much further than with most other research peptides.

A detailed classification can be found in the article What is GHK-Cu?

GHK-Cu Effects: State of Research

GHK-Cu is discussed in the literature in connection with tissue homeostasis, regenerative processes, and inflammation-related signaling pathways. Among other things, its possible involvement in the regulation of a large number of genes is being investigated.

It is also well documented that the natural GHK level in plasma decreases with age. What practical consequences can be drawn from this is explicitly not answered – a large part of the available data comes from cell culture and animal models, not from controlled human studies. The underlying mechanisms of action are still the subject of ongoing investigations.

Distinction: Cosmetics and Research Material

Under the INCI name Copper Tripeptide-1, the same compound is a permissible cosmetic ingredient in serums and creams. Such products are subject to the EU Cosmetics Regulation and are intended for application to the skin.

The material offered here, however, is lyophilized powder in a vial – laboratory ware for research and analytical purposes. It is neither a cosmetic product nor a medicinal product. An approved medicinal product based on GHK-Cu does not exist; accordingly, there is no officially reviewed application and no reviewed dosage.

Quality and Analytics

  • High laboratory purity
  • Batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA) from Janoshik
  • Clearly declared composition
  • Reproducible production standards

The certificates of analysis can be viewed in the Certification section. An optical feature is also present: the copper complex is characteristically blue – a strikingly pale or greenish color is a reason to examine the corresponding COA more closely.

Storage in a Laboratory Context

Lyophilized material is stored cool, dry, and protected from light. GHK-Cu is light-sensitive, which is why storage in the original vial is common. After reconstitution, stability is significantly reduced; repeated freezing and thawing are to be avoided.
