What is TB-500?
TB-500 is a synthetically produced peptide modeled after a section of the body's own protein Thymosin Beta-4. Thymosin Beta-4 binds actin and plays a role in the cell's cytoskeleton. TB-500 does not correspond to the complete protein, but to the region described in research as functionally relevant.
TB-500 Effect: State of Research
TB-500 is primarily investigated in connection with cell migration, neovascularization, and wound models. Its mechanism of action is considered systemic, which distinguishes the peptide from locally considered compounds.
The data primarily comes from cell culture and animal models. TB-500 is not approved as a medicine in any country; there is no officially reviewed application and no reviewed dosage. Additionally relevant for classification: Thymosin-β4 and its fragments are listed on the World Anti-Doping Agency's Prohibited List.
