What is TB-500?
TB-500 is a synthetically produced peptide that mimics a section of the body's own protein, Thymosin Beta-4. Thymosin Beta-4 binds to actin and plays a role in the cell's cytoskeleton. TB-500 does not correspond to the complete protein, but rather to the region that is described in research as functionally relevant.
TB-500 Effects: State of Research
TB-500 is predominantly studied in the literature in connection with cell migration, neovascularization, and wound models. The point of action is considered systemic, which distinguishes the peptide from locally considered compounds.
The data predominantly comes from cell culture and animal models. TB-500 is not approved as a medicine in any country; there is no officially reviewed application and no reviewed dosage. Additionally relevant for classification: Thymosin-β4 and its fragments are listed on the World Anti-Doping Agency's Prohibited List.
