What is TB-500?
TB-500 is a synthetically produced peptide modeled after a segment of the body's own protein Thymosin Beta-4. Thymosin Beta-4 binds actin and plays a role in the cell's cytoskeleton. TB-500 does not correspond to the complete protein but to the region that is described as functionally relevant in research.
TB-500 Effects: State of Research
TB-500 is predominantly studied in connection with cell migration, neovascularization, and wound models. The point of action is considered systemic, which distinguishes the peptide from locally considered compounds.
The data predominantly comes from cell culture and animal models. TB-500 is not approved as a medicine in any country; there is no officially reviewed application or reviewed dosage. Additionally relevant for classification: Thymosin-β4 and its fragments are listed on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list.
